Job Growth Remains Tepid
According to a new report from the Labor Department, the economy added 80,000 jobs last month. The unemployment rate remained at 8.2%. Economists say that they expect hiring to remain low for the rest of the year, with little momentum or help from the government, as well as financial problems in Europe. The end of 2012 will also bring the end to federal tax cuts and the payroll tax deduction. The jobs numbers for May were revised to 77,000.
