Jobs Boom From US Oil and Gas
A study by the consulting firm IHS proposes that the jobs gain from the oil and gas industry is larger than originally thought. In addition to job creation, the study also credited the booming energy industry with increasing average household income and expanding trade. The study further suggested that the fracking industry in particular has contributed to the boost, as it accounts for 1.7 million jobs and is expected to grow in the coming years.
