Payroll firm, SurePayroll Inc., has reported that while employment at small businesses increased last year, average wages dropped. It was found that employment at small businesses increased 4.4 percent, while the average paycheck decreased 4.8 percent in 2004. In general the trend seems to point toward more jobs at lower pay.
