Judge: Fla. worker drug testing unconstitutional
A federal judge has declared Florida's new regulations regarding drug testing for state employees unconstitutional. The judge said that the Governor had no evidence that there were drug problems that would need testing without some reason. Another state drug testing law that required welfare recipients to be tested was suspended after the American Civil Liberties Union filed a law suit. The Governor says that there is adequate evidence to support drug testing, and that it would help create a safer workplace. The judge disagreed, and said that the rule was an invasion of privacy.
