Judge rejects pilots’ union request to block vaccine mandate
Southwest Airlines is requiring employees to be vaccinated by December 8th in accordance with the mandate for federal contractors. The Southwest Airlines Pilots Association sought, and was denied, a temporary restraining order against the mandate. U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn ruled on Tuesday that the requirement furthers the collective bargaining agreement’s goal of safe and reasonable working conditions and therefore dismissed the case. The union says they are disappointed and will be considering next steps.
