Jury Rules Against Workers in Popcorn Case
Thirty popcorn factory employees have filed suit against International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. and its subsidiary, Bush Boake Allen Inc., claiming that the flavoring used at their plant caused them to contract lung disease. In the third lawsuit to go to court, the jury ruled against four factory employees, finding the flavoring company not responsible for the injuries at the plant. Twenty-seven lawsuits are still pending.
