Kazakh workers start copper mine sit-in
Copper mine workers in Kazakhstan have been striking since Saturday. Around 80 miners are refusing to leave the mine unless their employer raises wages. The mine company said that it was trying to resolve the dispute through negotiations with the workers. Last year, violence erupted after oil workers were fired, and around 14 people were killed in clashes with the police.
