Kerry report: Economy 'threatened' by offshoring
A recent paper published by presidential candidate John Kerry says that workers hurt by outsourcing should get federal assistance and puts forth a number of his ideas for keeping high-paying jobs in America. Kerry wants to expand the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program, which gives workers up to two years of income support and training services if they lose their jobs to foreign competition, to cover white-collar workers displaced by outsourcing. Kerry?s ideas were praised by the president of technology worker labor group WashTech.
