KFC, Pizza Hut and Starbucks NZ workers' strike action upsets the fast-food chain's owner
Approximately 2,000 fast food workers in New Zealand went on strike on Saturday. The workers are being represented by Unite Union and are fighting for better pay and working conditions. All of the protestors are employees of Restaurant Brands New Zealand, which owns KFC, Pizza Hut, and Starbucks. Unite's main concern is getting workers a living wage. Currently, KFC supervisors make NZ$1.80 (AU$1.67) per hour. After tax, Restaurant Brands profited $26 million last year.
