Kickstarter employees vote in favor of unionization
Employees at Kickstarter voted in favor of unionization on Tuesday. The firm's CEO has stated that the company supports employees' decision to unionize. This vote is consistent with a larger activist movement that has been observed in the tech space recently. While a number of tech firms have experienced labor activism in some capacity, few employee groups have gone so far as to join a union. Organizers have expressed their view that the tech sector has a lot of organizing potential, making Kickstarter an early adopter of what may be an ongoing trend.
