Kodak Reports Lower Profits and May Cut 6,000 Workers
Kodak announced that it would eliminate as many as 6,000 jobs, in an effort to control costs. Kodak is based in Rochester where most of the job cuts will be made. Part of Kodak's struggle can be explained by the general economic downturn, however the shift to digital photography has been especially damaging. Kodak is attempting to adjust its cost structures and branch out into the health imaging business.
