Korean Air, Pilots' Union Reach Agreement
South Korea's leading airline, Korean Air, has averted a strike by its pilots and reached a new contract. The agreement comes barely a week after the South Korean government forced an end to a 25-day strike by unionized pilots at Asiana Airlines, the country's second-largest carrier. The union representing Korean Air's pilots had planned to strike if no agreement was made.
