Krug-Mondavi workers, facing job losses, to call for national boycott
Workers at the Krug-Mondavi Winery, one of the first Napa Valley vineyards to unionize, plan to call today for a nationwide boycott of the company's wines, under the Charles Krug and C.K. Mondavi labels, officials with the United Farm Workers said Wednesday. Thirty-six workers whose contract expired at the end of 2005 face the loss of their jobs on July 1 when the company plans to contract out its farming operations to a land manager.
