L.A. hotel workers advocate for increased safety protections
Hotel workers across Los Angeles are advocating for a citywide ballot petition that would adopt safety protections for hotel workers, wage standards, and limit workloads. Many workers are sharing their stories of sexual harassment and assault on the job and this initiative would mandate hotels to install panic buttons for all hotel workers. The initiative received over 100,000 signatures and they are hoping that the Los Angeles City Council will adopt the initiative in lieu of a ballot vote given the widespread public support.
