L.A. Mechanics Reach Deal to End Strike
A tentative deal was reached between MTA officials and striking mechanics that may end the Southern California transit strike. Both sides have agreed to a deal that settled all unresolved contract issues except health care benefits, which will go to nonbinding arbitration. It has been estimated that the strike has cost $4 million a day in lost wages and business.
