L.A. union leaders reach deal with city
Ending a long, difficult struggle, the City of Los Angeles finally came to an agreement with leaders of the Engineers and Architects Association for a new contract that would bring a 9% raise over the next three years. The deal makes EAA the only union with a deal among unions representing civilian employees in the city, and comes after a contentious battle which saw the union conduct a two-day strike in August, and several spot strikes at the Port of Los Angeles and other city departments.
