Labor Board Backs Speedier Union Votes
The National Labor Relations Board has adopted a rule that will change the way union elections are held. Supporters of the change say that it will reduce unnecessary obstacles to unionization, while opponents say that the Board is overstepping. The new rule will change the way that employers challenge an election, a process that can take months. Instead of happening before the vote, challengers will be deferred until after the election. The rule takes effect on April 30.
