Labor court halts work at Brazil World Cup stadium
The second death this year forces a labor court to halt construction on Brazil?s World Cup Stadium. The 22 year old worker fell to his death while working on the roof of the structure because there was inadequate safety equipment to catch his fall. Construction will not be allowed to continue until safety conditions improve, but laborers are expected to go on strike regardless to protest the conditions. The death marks the third within a month which occurred on a World Cup Stadium worldwide. The Amazonia Stadium was scheduled to host games this summer, but considering this and other construction delays it seems unlikely.
