Labor Data Show Surge in Hiring of Temp Workers
The number of temporary workers being hired as grown for the past four months, and analysts hope that this will lead to the hiring of permanent workers. The number of temps hired in November was larger than any other category of new workers. The upturn in economic growth announced in September, and the drop in unemployment in some states last month have analysts hoping that employers are gaining confidence in the economy. Temps do not make as much and are less likely to spend, so the hiring of full-time employees in important for an upswing in consumer demand.
