Labor dispute at company that makes MLB uniforms
Textile workers at VF Majestic, a company that makes uniforms for all major league baseball players, are locked in a labor dispute with their employer over medical benefits. The contract between Pennsylvania Joint Board Workers United, Service Employees International Union and VF is set to expire Friday night. The union has alluded to the possibility of a strike if the company does not yield on its plan to double members? premiums. In a letter to VF, the Major League Baseball Players Association has publically announced its support for the textile workers. VF Corp. officials remain confident that the upcoming negotiations will yield a mutually satisfactory agreement between the sides.
