Labor dispute over jurisdiction at Seattle port affects West Coast dockworkers' contract negotiations
Two unions are currently seeking NLRB intervention regarding issues of jurisdiction at SSA, a main port in Seattle. This labor dispute is drawing attention away from the contract negotiations occurring between thousands of dockworkers across the West Coast and nearly 70 employers. The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) has expressed dismay and claims that SSA violated a provision of the contract being negotiated.
