Tuesday the Supreme Court heard a case from California on whether public sector non-unionized employees should be required to pay dues or fees. In California, every member in a bargaining unit is required to pay a union fee, whether or not they’re a union member. A non-member’s money could be used to finance lobbying they may not agree with. Public unions could face bankruptcy if the Supreme Court cuts out the fee requirements.
