Labor issues could plague long-delayed veterans cemetery project
The Veterans’ cemetery set to be built in Buffalo has been subject to many previous delays. Now, the cemetery’s construction may be halted due to labor issues. The Buffalo Building and Construction Trades Council has been pushing for a project labor agreement at the site. A project labor agreement would mean that all construction contracts would go to unionized companies. Much to the dismay of the President of the Buffalo Building and Construction Trades Council, the Department of Veterans Affairs contends it's too late to include a project labor agreement at the site.
