Labor leaders' credibility slips in minimum-wage debate
Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti signed an ordinance on Saturday that increases the city?s minimum wage to $15 by the year 2020. In supporting the bill, union leaders came under strong criticism for a late demand to exempt union workers, arguing that collection bargaining procedures should continue to give union employees control over their salary and benefits packages.
