Labor leaders debate `dramatic changes' for AFL-CIO
Labor leaders will meet to discuss dramatic changes to the labor movement at the AFL-CIO convention in July. AFL-CIO President John Sweeney has called on union officials and others to offer proposals to reinvigorate the labor movement in time for the July convention. A key player in the talks will be Andy Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union, who threatened to quit the AFL-CIO if sweeping changes do not take place.
