Labor Relations Board Dismisses Former UVM Prof John Summa's Grievance
Economics professor John Summa was denied reappointment for teaching left-of-center views at the University of Vermont. Summa was a full-time lecturer at the university between 2009 and 2017.The Vermont Labor Relations Board dismissed his grievance on Friday. Over his eight-year career teaching UVM, professor Suma had become persona non grada with his colleagues in the economics department, he claims that they detested the fact he challenged the “straight-jacket” model of economics that was being taught at the university. UVM administrators say that Summa was let go because the quality of his education was not u to par with their standards.
