Labor Strikes Add To Pressure On Egypt?s Leaders
While tens of thousands in Tahrir Square protest the Egyptian government, ship repair workers, electrical workers, farmers, and museum staffers are all staging labor strikes throughout Egypt. Although the labor strikers? demands include better wages, benefits, and work conditions, this labor unrest is contributing to the building pressure against President Hosni Mubarak and the rest of his administration. Despite mounting pressures, the Egyptian government remains defiant.
