Labor strikes and protests continue to heat up across France as government tries to impose retirement age increase
Over the weekend, various protests were held across France in opposition of Macron's plan to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a vote from the National Assembly. Additionally, there have been extensive labor strikes in the capital of Paris regarding transportation and sanitation workers with similar goals as the protestors - in hopes of pressuring lawmakers to intervene with Macron's pension reform plan. Motions for a vote of no-confidence have been started in response to the imposition of the retirement age increase, and labor strikes continued into Monday affecting airports across France and oil refineries.
