Labor unions, farmers back transport strike
Trade unions and farmers in Lebanon are standing with public transport employees in a show of solidarity designed to improve the living conditions of workers throughout the country. The General Labor Confederation (GLC) and farming representatives have said that they will join a general strike beginning January 24 in an attempt to gain massive wage increases to counter the drastic drop in the purchasing power of currency.
