Large layoffs to occur at Twitter as layoffs sweep the tech industry
On Friday, it was announced to Twitter employees that an undetermined number of layoffs are expected to sweep through the company as a result of Elon Musk taking over. According to previous internal messages, it is expected that nearly half of Twitter's employees will be let go during these layoffs. The company has stated that this decision is necessary for the future economic health of the company. Since Musk bought the company, the majority of the company's executives and managers have either been fired, resigned, or let go. However, the layoffs at Twitter reflect the current trend in the tech industry as other companies like HP, Lyft, and Stripe have all recently announced large layoffs as well.
