In order to address the increase in unemployment claims, a large call center and claims site will open this week in Hawaii. It will be the fourth largest call center and is set to be equipped with advanced technology as well as more space for people who wish to file their claims in person. This site will be operated by volunteers, some of whom are lawmakers. Hawaii’s unemployment rate is one of the highest in the country, making the creation of a large new call center particularly important.
