Latest Game Theory: Misxing Work and Play
In an effort to engage employees in everyday tasks, some firms are using tactics found in video games to encourage employees. Employees receive points or other rewards for completing jobs and meeting time limits. The strategy, known as 'gamification,' is becoming more widely used, with software revenues expected to reach $938 million by 2014. Studies have shown that employees who were trained using video games learned more, achieved a higher level and remembered the information longer.
