Laundry Workers Prepare to Strike
As part of a national labor campaign against laundry contractor Angelica Corp., half of Southern California's hospital linen cleaners are set to strike on Thursday. UNITE-HERE backs the strike, citing deplorable working conditions, including a history of safety violations, and low benefits as two reasons for the strike. The company plans to combat the strike by employing replacement workers.
