Lexington Becomes Second Kentucky City to Approve Minimum Wage Hike
On Thursday, officials in Lexington, KY voted to increase the city's minimum wage to $10.10 an hour by 2018. This makes Lexington and Louisville the only two cities in Kentucky to pass minimum wage laws. In Louisville, the minimum wage is set to increase to $9 an hour by 2017. Lexington's wage increase will affect 30,000 workers in the city. Many business owners in Lexington have spoken out against the wage increase saying that it will prevent job creation.
