Lieberman Proposes Paid Leave for Workers
Senator Joseph I. Lieberman is proposing an expansion of the Family and Medical Leave to include a program that would allow workers to take paid leave to care for themselves or family members. Mr. Lieberman is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, and this proposal is an effort to put forth an agenda of family issues. The paid leave program would be financed by some type of payroll reduction or tax.
