LinkedIn CEO?s Pay Increases More Than 40-Fold to $49 Million
LinkedIn?s CEO, Jeff Weiner, in 2013 got paid about 40 times the amount he did in 2012. The total estimated compensation comes to about $49.1 million largely because of stock options and grants and increases in the stock price which rose 89% over 2013 compared with 30% for the S&P 500. LinkedIn says that the stock awards are meant to compensate for more than one year; the company and its peers generally give out large stock awards every other year. Even taking into account the company?s rapid growth, Mr. Weiner?s paycheck tends to outpace Twitter?s CEO?s compensation by about 375 times and Facebook?s Mark Zuckerberg by about 75 times.
