London Bus Strike Causes Long Rush-Hour Traffic Jams
In London, a 24-hour strike has caused the transportation system to cut back 53% of its daily operations. Nearly 20,000 employees are on strike over pay disputes. The workers, who are represented by the union Unite, are demanding a standardized pay scale for bus drivers. Often drivers will operate the same bus routes but receive differing wages.
