Longshore union blasts law judge?s decision, says it risks lives
On Sunday, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union representatives responded to a NLRB labor judges finding that the union intentionally held work slowdowns at the Port of Portland. The representatives called the preliminary finding ?absurd? and questioned the safety of workers if they were forced to work quicker. The judge?s reasoning was based on past productivity measures of crane operation, container movement, and truck operation. The same union is in negotiations with the Port of Portland and the port at San Francisco.
