Los Angeles County Home Care Workers Win A Living Wage!
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a living wage for in-home care workers employed by the county. The 65 cent wage increase comes after months of pressure from community groups, workers and home care recipients. The county home care system is less expensive that privately rn institutions, however studies have found that the workers providing the services are often living below the poverty line. Proponents of the policy say that this change is a good policy for the county to set, and will benefit everyone.
