Los Angeles Unions Try a New Tack in Wal-Mart Battle
Los Angeles community groups held a march against a proposed Wal-Mart store in Chinatown on Saturday. Union have been pressuring politicians to stop accepting donations from the company in an effort to limit the company's influence. Three candidates for the Mayor's office have said that they will reject donations from Wal-Mart. Those fighting against Wal-Mart's expansion say that the company fails to bring better jobs or benefits to neighborhoods. Wal-Mart says that it will continue to talk directly to consumers in areas where it is looking to expand.
