Low employee morale due to mass layoffs have been impacting workplace culture at Meta
Recently, Meta has conducted two rounds of mass layoffs in order to achieve its "year of efficiency" goals. Additionally, there has been a rise in absentee leadership at Meta given that some of the tech company's top executives have moved away from Silicon Valley while rank and file workers are expected to return to the office. These workforce actions have significantly impacted employee morale and created a precarious workplace environment. In order to avoid being let go, some workers have become possessive over their work which has caused collaboration to decline. Furthermore, there are more workforce reduction cuts expected to impact tech departments and engineers at the company later this month.
