Machinists, Boeing Co. mark time until Wednesday contract vote; union has called for strike
Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers union will vote Wednesday on what Boeing Co. calls its "best and final" offer in a trade dispute that could prompt over 25,000 of the airplane manufacturer's employees to strike. The offer, which is Boeing's third, includes pay increases and bonuses; union leaders, however, still consider it worthy of a strike.
