Many New Jobs Going to Noncitizens
A report to be released today by the Pew Hispanic Center reports that 28.5% of the new jobs created in the U.S. from the first three months of 2003 through the first three months of 2004 were filled by noncitizens. In addition, figures show that while Latino immigrants gained jobs during that time period, their overall earnings declined. The study is the first to compare citizen and noncitizen job numbers in the current economic recovery.
