Many Workers in Public Sector Retiring Sooner
Public sector workers, facing salary freezes, increasing health care costs and pension cuts are retiring at a faster rate. While part of the large number of retirements is attributable to an aging workforce, some workers say that they are retiring sooner than they had expected to. While the retirements are helping state budgets, others are worrying about how to replace the skills and knowledge that workers are taking with them.
