March job growth strongest in four years
According to a government report, businesses added jobs this past month at the fastest pace in nearly four years. The unemployment rate rose slightly because more job seekers were looking for work last month, but were unsuccessful. The March rise in payrolls can be attributed to the resolution of the southern California grocery labor dispute that had affected 72,000 workers.
