Marchionne Wins Italian Worker Concessions to Build Maserati Luxury Sedan
Fiat had won concessions from workers at its plant in Italy. The concessions include increased shifts, shorter breaks, strike limitations, and a six day work week. The plan got approval from 88% of the workforce. In return, the company will invest $742 million in the plant, which employs around 1,100 people. The agreement is the third the company has made with factories in Italy. Fiat says that the concessions are necessary for them to keep production in Italy. Fiat employs around 22,000 workers in Italy.
