Maruti Suzuki restarts riot-hit car plant
A Indian Suzuki plant reopened on Tuesday, about a month after a riot led to the death of a manager and dozens of injuries. The company fired about 500 workers after the riot, which was started over wage differentials between temporary and permanent workers. The company says that it will stop hiring temporary workers and make them permanent employees. The plant will begin production at less than 10% of capacity and slowly increase.
