Thousands of workers across the world staged protests and demonstrations on May Day. In Bangladesh, workers rallied for safer working conditions and punishment for the owner of the building that collapsed last week. Other workers protested for higher wages and better benefits, while in Europe workers demonstrated against austerity and high unemployment. May 1st is celebrated as International Workers' Day in most of the world.
