May Urges U.K. Union to End ‘Appalling’ Strike on Southern Rail
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has pleaded to Aslef, the labor union representing the Southern Railway drivers, to end its strike. The strike entered into its second day today, stranding thousands of commuters. The rail drivers are against having to open and close train doors at each stop, a duty they believe is unsafe. The drivers are expected to strike again on Friday.
