Mayor announces sweeping vaccine mandate for city workers
New York City’s mayor announced on Wednesday that all city workers will be required to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The previous mandate only imposed upon Department of Education staff and city health workers. All city workers will be mandated to get their first does by 5pm on October 29th and anyone who has not started the vaccination process by November 1st and shown proof will be placed on unpaid leave. Employees who begin their vaccination process through next week will get a $500 bonus as incentive.
